Hydropower engineering, Water resources management, Renewable Energy Sources – Small Hydropower Plants


Research Experience:

Activities in water management and hydroelectric power plants operation through courses and research
Didactic activities:
• Courses, lectures and project works on Water energy uses, Hydropower engineering for bachelor students
• Coordination of diploma projects and master final essays (4-6 projects / year)
• Member in the commissions of evaluation of Licence and dissertation projects
• Master courses on hydropower engineering for postgraduate students: Water resources management; Renewable Energy Sources - Small hydropower plants and Ocean energy
• Administrative responsibilities: Member of the Power Engineering Faculty Council 
Scientific activities:
• Consultancy for projects in the energy sector,
• Consultancy for energy sector restructuring,
• Contract based research in the following areas:
- hydroelectric power plants operation;
- large interconnected reservoirs operation;
- flows of two superposed liquids in a plane or axial-symmetric configuration;
- theoretic and experimental studies of the stability for the interface between two incompatible polymers in axial-symmetric flows, Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble, Laboratoire de Rhéologie de Grenoble, France;
- data acquisition, signal processing, calibration of detectors for diphasic flow characteristics (water-air), Laboratoire des Écoulements Géophysiques et Industriels, Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble, France;
- studies of the rheological characteristics of cement suspensions used for hydropower projects, using the HAAKE VT-500 viscotester, Bucharest
- study of the rheological characteristics of some liquids used for light industry using the HAAKE VT-500 viscotester;
- study of the boundary layer in flow near the walls.
